High Voltage Transformers

If it were not for transformers, the electronics industry would have very little to make a name of itself. Its primary purpose is to transfer electrical energy from one circuit to another, as if it were the veins of the human body. With the exception of more modern technology, most electrical devices will possess a transformer within them. The design of a transformer is infinite, since there are many ways to create this device in various applications.

The classification that displays the most powerful and efficient transformers on the tallest pedestal is the high voltage transformer. High voltage transformers can vary and be capable of going into any field, whether it is as large as a power grid to something as small as a household lamp. However, in order to perfect the assembly of this particular transformer, it requires both the proper winding technique that we have developed and the assistance of top quality materials that its main function is to make the transformer functional and reliable.

Payne-Magnetics has put in a great amount of time and experience into designing high voltage transformers that it has now become an instinct to perform. We are capable in specializing in transformers up to thirty-five pounds, or the size of a car battery, For the past fifty-five years, Payne-Magnetics has developed techniques that can perfect the design of these transformers so they cannot, and will not break down when it is active. To be sure that there will be no flaws in the design, we believe that the transformers require special attention and be involved in an isolation process, from the primary to the secondary and the secondary to the ground. This process starts by figuring out which winding technique will bring the most satisfaction to the design. Our staff understands how to wind on various forms, ranging from multi-layer coil to multi-section bobbins. When we need to perform multi-layer windings, other materials can become great benefactors as well, such as Teflon, Kapton film, and Nomex, which as insulation between the winding layers.

This method for developing high voltage transformers applications may have been long forgotten, but it is the greatest procedure in building transformers that will last. Some transformer designs involving using a dielectric (i.e. oil) to help isolate and keep the transformer from overheating. However, that does not stop us from developing efficient high voltage transformers. In order to prevent this action from happening, Payne-Magnetics can manage conation our designs in one of our epoxies, which are very reliant.

The staff Payne-Magnetics offers is capable of building various types of high voltage transformers, whether in is one of our many designs or a specialized version request by the client.
